Halotherapy in salt cabins improves respiratory health
A salt cabin is constructed from a wooden frame and Himalayan salt bricks with integrated lighting. It provides the same benefits as a salt room or a salt cave.
Its main advantage is mobility – it is fully portable. It can be assembled or disassembled in just one day, making it suitable for placement in:
- wellness centers
- fitness centers
- beauty salons
- preschools
- schools
- sanatoriums
- private homes
Even in ancient times, the Greeks discovered that salt mines and salt caves had a positive effect on human respiratory health. Miners working in salt mines rarely suffered from respiratory diseases.
Doctors and scientists eventually found a way to recreate the conditions of a salt cave and effectively administer salt therapy. This method of treatment became known as halotherapy.
The name comes from the Greek word halo, meaning salt, so halotherapy can be simply described as “salt treatment.” Under this name, the therapy gained worldwide recognition and began to be applied in salt cabins.
Dry salt aerosol has antibacterial properties, thins mucus, and helps clear secretions, while also providing anti-inflammatory effects throughout the respiratory system, making breathing easier. In addition, it improves mucus mobility and facilitates faster drainage of secretions from the sinuses and respiratory tract.
Salt therapy, or halotherapy, conducted in salt cabins is a completely natural and scientifically proven method that helps alleviate issues caused by:
- asthma
- bronchitis
- allergies
- chronic and viral infections
- upper respiratory tract diseases (rhinitis, sinusitis, laryngitis, tonsillitis)
- smoking cessation support
- skin problems
- weakened immunity
- general fatigue, stress, and exhaustion
- concentration difficulties
Therapy sessions are recommended for 30–45 minutes daily. A 45-minute session in a salt cabin has the same effect as three days by the sea. Treatments for adults last 45 minutes, while sessions for children are 20 minutes. For full benefits, 10–15 sessions are recommended. Salt therapy can be applied from early childhood through advanced age.
